This is a lesson plan with accompanying resources focussing on the miracle of Jesus healing the centurion’s servant. It is suitable for using with key stage 2. It is an interactive, thought-provoking lesson.
The plan gives details of a starter, an introduction to the story, a drama activity, written activity and plenary. Lesson objectives and cross-curricular links are also included in the plan. The lesson allows children to improve literacy and speaking and listening skills within an RE lesson. It also encourages philosophical thinking skills. Each comprehension contains a short piece of text with words that can be sounded out. There are three trickier words which have pictures to help children work out what they say. The text is followed by 5 questions, containing ‘what’ ‘who’ and ‘when’ questions and some multiple choice questions. Answers are also included.
There are three differentiated levels (PDFs). There is a colour and black & white version of each level.
There is also a powerpoint included in the pack containing a slide for each text from the middle ability so that you can go through the comprehensions before the children complete them. This is a plan and PowerPoint presentation for an assembly on The Last Supper, with a focus on the theme of betrayal. . The 5 page pdf plan is easy to follow and requires no resources, so is perfect for using at the last minute!
I like leading assemblies that are interactive, engaging and relevant to the children’s lives. So, this assembly involves an anecdote about a childhood friend who betrayed you. You can use the examples in the plan or use an anecdote from your own childhood. This is then linked to Judas betraying Jesus before the events of Good Friday. There is a lot of opportunity for children to think about their own experiences and to feedback. There is also an example prayer/reflection to finish with.
There is also an optional 34 slide PowerPoint which covers all parts of the assembly including the anecdote, The Last Supper story, the discussion/conclusion and the final prayer. I like leading assemblies that are interactive, engaging and relevant to the children's lives. This assembly involves an anecdote on a childhood squabble and how it can be hard to do the right thing. This is an interactive powerpoint quiz all about Easter and spring. It contains 60 questions suitable for using with year 2 up.
Use as a starter, an assembly, a filler or a main activity. All questions are multiple choice and are split into 4 different sections: The Easter Story, Easter Traditions, Springtime and Spring Animals. After you have chosen an answer for each question, click again and the correct answer changes colour.

This resource is a comprehension activity based on the year 6 reading comprehension SATs paper.
The theme for the comprehension is the story of Jesus’ arrest before Good Friday, which I have rewritten to resemble the style of the reading paper.
I have included 3 differentiated levels. The Higher Ability level (781 words) is similar to the SATs paper, whilst the Middle Ability (654 words) and Lower Ability (564 words) use slightly simplified wording in the reading and question booklet. Each level contains a 3 page reading booklet and an accompanying 4 page question booklet, which contains a range of questions based on past papers. There are also example answers.
The preview pages show one page from the higher ability comprehension booklet and question booklet and one page from the higher ability black & white booklet.

Easter Assembly Plan - Palm Sunday
This is a set of three lesson plans to teach children about the fun Jewish holiday of Purim. It is suitable for ages 7 - 11. The pdf plans are very detailed (11 pages plus resources). These lessons could be taught at any time of the year.
Lesson 1 teaches children about the story of Queen Esther and includes a drama hot seating activity.
Lesson 2 teaches children about how Jewish people celebrate Purim and includes a letter writing activity.
Lesson 3 consolidates the previous lessons and includes two art activities based on Purim celebrations.
Each lesson starts with an introductory session and finishes with a plenary session. There are also lots of opportunities for whole class discussions. The plan includes three differentiated levels of objectives and all the necessary resources. There is also an optional PowerPoint (This is non-editable.
